Additional aroma components are estragol (\u00a0<em>iso\u00a0<\/em>-anethole, 2%), anise aldehyd (less than 1%), anise alcohol,\u00a0<em>p\u00a0<\/em>-methoxy-acetophenone, pinene, limonene, ?-himachalene (2%). An unusual compound is the phenol ester 4-methoxy-2-(1-propene-yl)-phenol-2-methyl-butyrate, which is characteristic for anise (5%).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ff00;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">::<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0Uses:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Aniseed is widely used to flavour pastries; it is the characteristic ingredient of a German bread called Anisbrod.
